I used Gong nearly every single day for about six years, first as a seller and then running sales teams. Chorus was always the other name on the shortlist, and both of them sold the same promise: record every call and your reps will get better.
Real talk - did they? I'm genuinely asking. Because the question buyers are asking about Chorus this fall isn't "is Chorus good." It's "is Chorus even still a thing?"
Short version: yes. Chorus is alive. It's just not the company you bought from anymore. And if the reason you bought it was to make your reps better at selling, this is a good moment to be honest about whether it ever did that.
Here's what actually happened to Chorus, what it means for your renewal, and why, if coaching reps is the job, I think Elanor is the better Chorus alternative. Plus where Chorus and ZoomInfo still win, because they do.
Chorus.ai still exists in 2026, but as ZoomInfo's conversation intelligence product rather than a standalone company, and the best Chorus alternative depends on the job: if you bought Chorus to make your reps better at selling, the best alternative is Elanor Labs, which scores how well reps actually sold on every call and coaches them to it, while ZoomInfo stays the better fit if you want data, outbound and call recording from one vendor.
Is Chorus.ai still available in 2026?
Yes, but not the way it was. As of October 2026, Chorus is sold as ZoomInfo's conversation intelligence product; chorus.ai redirects to the Chorus page on zoominfo.com, and existing customers still sign in there.
A quick timeline, because a lot of "Chorus is dead" chatter online gets this wrong:
- July 2021. ZoomInfo buys Chorus.ai for a reported $575 million. At the time Chorus was a standalone conversation intelligence company competing head-on with Gong.
- 2022 to 2024. Chorus is folded into the ZoomInfo platform. The name stays; the roadmap starts serving ZoomInfo's priorities.
- 2025 to 2026. The chorus.ai domain redirects to zoominfo.com. ZoomInfo's site lists Chorus under "Engagement" as its conversation intelligence product, with "Connected Intelligence" (ZoomInfo data inside your call history) as the headline feature.
- Fall 2026. ZoomInfo's energy is on agents: it announced the acquisition of DoubleO.ai on September 30, 2026 and launched Agent Teams inside GTM Studio the next day. None of it is about making your reps better sellers.
So if someone tells you Chorus was shut down, they're wrong. If someone tells you Chorus is still the independent, rep-first product it was in 2020, they're also wrong.
What changed for Chorus customers?
Four things, and every one of them shows up at renewal.
1. You're a ZoomInfo customer now. The roadmap, the contract and the account team are ZoomInfo's. Third-party guides even disagree on whether you can still buy Chorus on its own: one says you cannot buy it independently and it's an add-on module to a ZoomInfo subscription; another says a standalone quote exists but ZoomInfo pushes the bundle. Ask for the quote both ways and get it in writing.
2. The price is a quote, not a number. ZoomInfo doesn't publish Chorus pricing. Guides from July and August 2026 report roughly $8,000 a year for a base package that includes three seats, about $1,200 a year per additional seat, and a ZoomInfo data bundle adding roughly $15,000 to $40,000 on top. All of that is "reported," not fact (as of October 2026).
3. The contract got longer. Two-year agreements are described as standard, with early exit reportedly costing 50 to 100 percent of what's left. Contracts auto-renew and typically need 60 to 90 days' notice. If your renewal is in Q1, your notice window is open right now.
4. The best feature needs the bundle. Connected Intelligence, the thing that makes Chorus different from a generic recorder, requires an active ZoomInfo data license. Without it you're paying ZoomInfo prices for a notetaker with trackers.
What are your options if you're a Chorus customer?
You really have three, and the right one depends on why you bought Chorus in the first place.
Stay. If your SDRs live in ZoomInfo, your outbound runs on ZoomInfo data and you like one contract, staying is defensible. Negotiate the term down to a year and make the renewal uplift explicit.
Move to another all-in-one. Gong is the obvious one. Salesloft is the other, now that Clari Copilot has been renamed Salesloft Conversation Intelligence (I wrote about what that rename means). Both are excellent at recording, forecasting and engagement; neither is built to grade selling. See my full Gong alternatives guide for that comparison.
Put a scoring layer where the coaching was supposed to be. This is the option most Chorus customers didn't know existed. Keep whatever records your calls, and add a product whose whole job is scoring how well each rep sold and coaching them to it. That's Elanor.
Why Elanor is the better Chorus alternative for coaching reps
I'm obviously biased, so I'll show my work and contrast each point with what the recorders actually do.
1. Scoring is the whole product, not a feature on a recorder
Chorus and Gong both give you trackers and scorecards built on the transcript. Gong's own help center explains its AI answers the scorecard questions you write, from the transcript, and notes that "sometimes, AI produces different outputs for identical inputs." ZoomInfo's Chorus page promises to help you identify winning behaviors, and the most thorough review I found this fall concluded that the value still depends on a named manager reviewing calls every week.
For Elanor, scoring isn't bolted onto a notetaker. It's the product. She watches the full call, not just the transcript, and grades the behaviors that create or destroy revenue. We call that Revenue Behavioral Intelligence™.
2. A rubric for every meeting type, built with you
An intro call shouldn't be graded like a demo, and a demo shouldn't be graded like a renewal. Elanor scores every call against a rubric for that meeting type, and we build it with you from your own playbook. I've run and coached more than 2,500 B2B intro calls over the past decade, so you don't have to figure out the questions alone. With a tracker-based tool, you do.
3. One number your whole org understands
Every call, rep, team and company gets an RBI Score - think of it as a credit score for sales conversations. It breaks down into skills and the exact timestamped moments behind them. When a rep asks why she got a 68 and not a 75, the answer is right there on the call. No black box, and no "the AI said so."
4. Every rep gets coached on every call, within minutes
Sad but true: managers coach the bottom of the board. Your top performers, the ones you can least afford to lose, almost never get real feedback, and lack of development is one of the main reasons great reps leave.
Elanor coaches everyone, on every call. An hour-long call takes her roughly four minutes, and she cuts short clips of the moments that mattered before a manager would even open the recording. I'll use myself as the example: I ran a call recently that felt awesome. Within minutes Elanor scored it a 90 and showed me exactly what to fix and where to take the deal. No more replaying the call in my head all afternoon.
5. Nothing to rip out
Elanor joins Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet as a notetaker, or works from the recordings you already have. Scores can write back to your CRM (HubSpot is live; see integrations for the rest). So you can keep Chorus through the end of your term, or keep ZoomInfo for the data and let Elanor own the coaching. Reps keep selling the way they sell. Here's how it works.
Chorus vs. Elanor at a glance
| Chorus by ZoomInfo | Elanor Labs | |
|---|---|---|
| Built to | Record calls and connect them to ZoomInfo contact and company data | Make reps better: score how well they sold on every call and coach to it |
| Sold as | ZoomInfo's conversation intelligence product; reportedly pushed as a bundle (as of October 2026) | A standalone scoring and coaching product |
| How calls get scored | Trackers and scorecards on the transcript | Every recorded call scored against a rubric built for that meeting type, from the full call |
| Who designs the scoring | You do | We build it with you, from your playbook |
| What you get | Transcripts, trackers, deal and market intelligence, ZoomInfo data in the call record | An RBI Score for every rep, team and company, broken into skills and timestamped moments |
| Coaching | Managers review calls, trackers and scorecards | Every rep coached on every call within minutes, with clips of the moments that mattered |
| Data, outbound, enrichment | Yes, that's ZoomInfo's core business | No - keep those where they are |
Where Chorus and ZoomInfo still win
Plainly: if your outbound motion runs on ZoomInfo data and your reps already live in that platform, Chorus is the path of least resistance for recording. One vendor, one contract, and call history that's stitched to the contact and company records your SDRs use every day.
Elanor doesn't do data, enrichment, dialing, sequencing or forecasting, and we're not trying to. Keep ZoomInfo for the pipeline. Use Elanor for the people.
What about the other Chorus alternatives?
If coaching isn't the job, here's the short list as of October 2026. Gong is the category leader for standalone conversation intelligence, with forecasting and engagement attached, but metered AI credits and a platform fee. Salesloft Conversation Intelligence (the former Clari Copilot) is the pick if you want engagement, forecasting and recording from one vendor. Avoma and Fireflies.ai are lighter, publish their pricing, and are commonly recommended for smaller teams that mainly need transcripts and notes.
All good tools. None of them are built to tell you how well your reps actually sold.
The lesson
Chorus didn't die. It got absorbed, and the part you bought it for, making reps better, was never really its strength or ZoomInfo's. Recording every call was the easy half. Knowing which behaviors are winning and losing deals, and coaching every rep to them, is the half that pays.
If you're a Chorus customer staring at a ZoomInfo renewal and your reps' calls are recorded, reach out. We gotta chat. We'll run Elanor on your own calls and you can compare.
